Harvest time 1

76 x 75 cm Natural acrylic paint, oil pastel, charcoal, feutre and oil painting table cover plastic. 2023

Harvest Time, was directly inspired by the pollution and corruption of the Litani River. Extensive research on the
Litani River not only unveiled the factories and technological processes that continue to pollute the river but
also how important the latter is to the flora and fauna of the broader region beyond borders. The use of different
techniques like figurative, abstraction, and carving shows the interactions between humans, technologies, and
the environment. With the further destruction of this region by phosphorus bombs and war today, it is now
more important than ever that we connect to our land through experience beyond mere study through artistic
practice. The land is our body, and the corruption, pollution, and violent processes that destroy the land, I show,
are like the very corruption of our own bodies. We must be moved by these narratives, or we will give up the very
essence of ourselves.
